Hello. My name is Sam Kumiko Sheridan.
I was born on a snowy February afternoon (pisces) at St Vincent’s Hospital (rip) in NYC. Growing up, I was on a Roller Derby team and played in a few bands. After years of writing in my diary, I began writing with my guitar and singing songs. I eventually found solace in the world of film. It was through film that I discovered how powerful a story could be + how much it could impact your day or life.
I love it when a line describes exactly the way you feel. Or when you walk away from a book feeling reborn. I love to write and tell stories because it is the way I know how to connect with people the best. I love to make them feel something too.
I studied directing at the National Film and Television School in England while completing a degree in Film/TV at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where I recently graduated. I focused on writing and directing during my time there, telling stories ranging from Skateboarding Culture in Japan to Teen Pregnancy in NYC.
This is my favorite movie. This is my favorite animal. I am currently based in NYC, born and raised. I am half-Japanese and work in both languages. Nowadays, I still enjoy writing in my diary, taking photographs on my Olympus, roller skating when I can, and continuing to work on my stories.
I am always looking for new and unique opportunities to utilize my skills.
Thank you so much for listening. I am eager to start my next chapter.
